Aluminium 5052 square bars are composed primarily of aluminium (Al), magnesium (Mg) (2.20-2.80%), and trace elements like iron (Fe), silicon (Si), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn). The presence of magnesium enhances its strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in marine environments. These bars exhibit excellent workability, good machinability, and medium to high tensile strength. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 240-270 MPa, yield strength of approximately 140-160 MPa, and an elongation of 12-16%. The alloy also offers good fatigue strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
